TMRS - Telangana Minority Residential Schools under TMREIS 2017

TSMRS/Telangana Minorities Residential Schools would be started under TMREIS/ #TMRS Minority Residential schools in Telangana/Telangana govt to set up 70 minority residential schools by June/70 minority residential schools to come up in State: Telangana government is keen to operationalise the 70 minorities residential schools, which it had sanctioned earlier this year, latest by June.

50 more minority residential schools next year: A total of 55,000 students should be given good education, food and hostel facilities in the institutions, says CM. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has issued directions for having 160 minority residential schools across the State by the beginning of next academic year, inclusive of the 71 schools which have already been opened. Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Khammam, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar and Adilabad towns should have six minority residential schools each - three each for boys and girls, he said.
12 more in Hyderabad:
In addition to the eight existing schools, 12 more would be opened in the State capital. Each constituency should have at least one such school, with more set up wherever Muslims are greater in number. He conducted a review on the establishment and maintenance of minority residential schools here on Friday, with officials from the Minority Welfare and other departments.
A total of 55,000 students should be given good education, food and hostel facilities in the institutions, Mr. Rao said and asked officials to prepare estimates for the funds required, so that they can be provided in the next year’s budget. Expressing satisfaction with the functioning of the social welfare residential schools and the results achieved, the Chief Minister desired the same results from the minority residential schools too. A total of 55,000 students will be given good education, food and hostel facilities in the schools

At the first meeting of the board of governors of the TMREIS Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society, convened by minister of education Kadiyam Srihari, officials of various departments were advised to prepare a detailed road map on the issue. He instructed the secretary of the Minorities Welfare Department (MWD) Syed Omer Jaleel to keep him apprised of the developments with regard to the same.
Deputy chief minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that the officials have been instructed to begin efforts to identify land parcels where these schools can be constructed. They have been advised to coordinate with the administration of various districts. Students will not have to take any entrance test to study here. Setting up of these schools will give rise of employment of both teaching and non-teaching staff.
Around 50,000 students belonging to minority communities will be benefiting through the 70 residential schools coming up in the State from the next academic year. The government had earlier planned to start 60 schools but increased the number by 10. The budget has also been increased to around Rs. 2,039 crore.
The money will be spent in three phases. Initially, we will be starting the residential schools in rented buildings. Already 35 buildings have been identified and the remaining will be done by the month-end. According to Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation (TSMFC) Vice Chairman and Managing Director.

The TSMFC along with the district administration will start the exercise of identifying the land for construction of school buildings next month. Similarly, a massive campaign will be taken in the minorities dominated mandals of the State to publicise the concept. The TSMFC recently held a meeting with religious heads and sought their help in enrolling children at the schools.
Separate institutions: “Separate residential schools will be set up for girls and boys. A counsellor will available to help the students overcome problems related to studies or family or any other while a team of doctors and nutritionist will be visiting the schools regularly, According to TSMFC. A total of 3,241 persons will be recruited for the residential schools. Of these, 2,520 would be teachers and 321 non-teaching staff and the other will be wardens and administrative staff. “The recruitments will be made by the Telangana State Public Service Commission in a phased manner. They will also be preparing a curriculum to ensure all round development of the students.
Plans are afoot to conduct regular training programme for the teachers as well by roping in experts. Also, the school buildings will be equipped with closed circuit cameras and solar lighting. Officials plan to introduce a system through which they systematically assess the progress of the schools.
